Creating Glitter Graphics Tutorial
This tutorial will show you how I create glitter graphics in Paint Shop Pro and Animation Shop.
Step 1
Begin by opening the glitter fills (find some here!) in Animation Shop; one transparent and one background fill. Copy and paste each frame of the fill onto PSP. On PSP, open up 2 blank images which are big enough to fit your glitter graphic. Fill one of the blank images with the colour white and the other with the background fill. This is how my typical 'workspace' looks like:
Step 2
Now create your text in the blank white image and customise it (like shown above in the image)! Add patterns, other images, etc. Make sure your text is created as floating. You can check this by viewing the toolbar at the top.
Step 3
Click on Selections -> Modify -> Expand and select the number of pixels you want, I usually pick 2.
Expanding your text in the white blank image will give you a white outline (like many glitter graphics have) around your text. If you want a different outline colour then expand the text in an image of the prefered colour instead of expanding it in the white image.
Step 4
Copy your text (it should still be selected) and then paste it as a new selection on the image with the background fill (I usually hold down ctrl+E to paste as a new selection). If you want a drop-shadow on the image, click on Effects -> 3D Effects -> Drop Shadow. My settings are usually like this:

Step 5
Now expand the image again (whilst it's on the background-filled image), but this time change the number of pixels to 5.Select the fill tool and then follow this lovely diagram:

So when you've selected the first transparent fill frame, fill in your image with it. Copy the image and paste it on Animation Shop.
Step 6
Undo the fill on the image and then select the second transparent fill frame, fill the image, copy and paste it after/before current frame on Animation Shop. Repeat this again but select the third transparent fill frame. Save your image in Animation Shop and wallah there you have it :D Want to learn how to tag animated graphics?Need help?
